Why Hire AFCO?
|
To succeed in a highly competitive market for more than 35 years, a business must offer something beyond the standard practice provided by its competitors. That "something" can be as simple as an above-average support staff, swift response, quality service or exceptional results.
Owning and leasing commercial real estate is risky business. Often, the difference between only marginal success and excellent results depends on making an informed decision. Whether leasing or buying or selling, a professional real estate counselor is indispensable in the decision process. However, in today's rapidly changing business environment, that may not be enough. You often need that extra edge found in a wide range of individual experiences.
Finding just the right office space, industrial facility, quality investment property, or on-site property maintenance service among the hundreds available choices requires the most current research resources and market experience.
So, why AFCO? Simply put, we are in the problem-solving business. Whether your needs include confidential market research, creative marketing, or just a good old get-out-there-and-knock-on-doors approach, we can provide it. We've been doing it for more than 35 years. |

"We give
back to the community."
Sam Friedman,
Chairman, AFCO Realty
|
| AFCO's strong commitment to the community both strengthens our business position by staying actively involved and aware of changing climates and opportunities, while providing meaningful services and growth to the environment in which we participate. For nearly four decades, AFCO has contributed to well over 100 community organizations. Here are some given our primary focus. |
|
PATH Foundation
 |
Sam Friedman, the PATH Foundation's founding chairman, has been highly involved with the organization since its inception in 1991. The PATH Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing a metrowide greenway system for Atlanta.
A team of experienced trail builders oversees the planning and development of PATH's greenway trails and raises funds to continue building trails for Atlanta.
|
The City of Atlanta has named PATH its official partner in trail building for the city. PATH trails enhance community spirit and bring neighborhoods together. Each day, thousands of joggers, walkers, bikers and skaters from all walks of life escape the roads and hit the trails.
PATH also built the Silver Comet Trail connecting Atlanta to Alabama. When construction of the Chief Ladiga Trail in Alabama meets the Silver Comet at the state line, the two combined will form an uninterrupted trail of 100 miles.
Visit the PATH Foundation website and to learn about more exciting new projects.

Buckhead Coalition

Sam Friedman and Judy, the Editor for the Atlanta Journal/Constitution |
AFCO's Sam Friedman has been involved with the Buckhead Coalition almost since its inception in 1988.
The organization of business and civic leaders nurtures the community's quality of life. It plans and implements action programs for continued improvement of Buckhead as an integral part of the corporate city of Atlanta. The long-range program is to assist in coordinating an orderly growth, balancing residential and commercial interests. |
The Coalition works closely with government, exchanges information with other citizens' groups, and exercises a formal relationship with the Buckhead Business Association. Membership is by invitation and limited to 75 major Buckhead CEOs or others having a pronounced commitment to the area.
Sam Friedman served as chairman of the Buckhead Coalition in 2001 and 2002.

Atlanta Union Mission
|
|
| Sam Friedman and AFCO have been continually involved with the Atlanta Union Mission for 15 years, providing service, funds, and other support. In 2004, Friedman served as the Major Gifts Chair for the Capital and Endowment Campaign, which raised $15 million. Friedman also served the non-profit organization as chairman of the Board of Directors, providing leadership and direction. |
About the Atlanta Union Mission - Since 1938, the Atlanta Union Mission has provided homeless men, women and children an estimated six million services, consisting of over 350 thousand nights of shelter, nearly a million meals, clothing and recovery programs.
The Missions primary focus is on life recovery addressing physical, emotional, educational |
|
 |
and spiritual needs of homeless people. Returning individuals to the community to lead healthy, productive lives is the ultimate goal of the Missions programs.
More than 80 percent of the Missions $11 million operating revenues comes from monetary contributions and donated goods and services. |

| Leadership Atlanta |
|
 |
Leadership Atlanta is a non-profit organization which recognizes that involvement |
by and collaboration among the business, government, nonprofit, and religious sectors are essential to the welfare of the Atlanta community. AFCO Realty Chairman Samuel Friedman completed the eight month leadership training program for Leadership Atlanta and now serves as an Alumni.
The organization serves the Metropolitan Atlanta Region by providing opportunities to establish personal relationships among leaders from diverse constituencies, providing information and insights into the major issues and opportunities facing the Atlanta metropolitan area and by providing a forum for candid and honest discussion of these important subjects facing the community.
Leadership Atlanta is the oldest continuously running training program of its type in the country. It was formed by a group of concerned citizens in 1969 to address the growing need for a trained cadre of committed community leaders. It was established during a time of turbulence and unprecedented growth, in response to the conviction that the selection and training of leaders were too important to be left to chance.
The founders envisioned an organization that would be a conduit through which people could make a difference in how Atlanta worked, and a natural extension of one of Atlantas strongest assets the tradition of involvement among its businesses, community organizations and public officials. |
